A Produce – White Sands

This cd bears the subtitle “An Anthology 1988-1994”.
It contains a nice selection of tracks taken from his previous four albums, to which five unreleased and slightly changed pieces have been added.

Listening to the music shows that Barry Craig’s trance-kindred music remains something special: it ranges from spacey stuff (“October 1st”) to beautiful ambient (“The Far Shore”, “Within Reach”). It shifts somewhere between the output of Robert Rich, Michael Stearns, Steve Roach and Brain Eno.

All in all, “White Sands” (which lasts over 75 minutes) certainly is a recommended recording for ambient music fans.

Note:
A Produce has more recently released a 3-cd set entitled “Black Sands” which actually picks up where “White Sands” left off.
