If I’m not mistaken Mr Khan released a cassette called “Chai & Roses” back in 1987, but the cd cover states most of this music was recorded in 2003. It’s music from the tea traditions, again roaming in tranquillity & silence. But like on “Turya” there’s subtle, almost cyclic movement to be found here. Khan again applies sitar phrases that serve as a bait in order for the subconscious to open up and become active. Ok, some listeners might find his music a bit New Age, but it is certainly something to make your mind settle down for an hour or so. |
