“Holographic Codex” is a peculiar sonic breed which sees introspective, moody ambient landscapes paired with IDM sequences and psybient textures. Moreover, the cross-pollination of the styles of the two ltalian composers has led to a progressive electronic amalgam of ritualistic soundscapes and technogenic aural landscapes bearing a psychedelic, mysterious and at times quite disorientating character throughout. A consistent gloomy and eerie undercurrent within the morphing dense ambient realm can’t be denied either, as treated drone fields and assorted ethnic sounds draw the listener inward. All seven pieces on “Holographic Codex” are challenging and non easy-going, riding the edge between the hypnotic, minimalism and meditative while the sampled voices add a ghostly/ethereal nod to the overall thick and clouded sound design. |
