Alpha Wave Movement – Exiled Particles Vol. I Archive 1997-2005
CD-R/DIGITAL DOWNLOAD, Harmonic Resonance Recordings, 2012

With “Exiled Particles”, skilled American ambient composer Gregory Kyryluk (aka Alpha Wave Movement) brings us the first volume in a series of archival recordings. Tracks were made between 1997 and 2005, but never found its way to an actual physical release.

Gregory reveals that most of the up-tempo oriented compositions show characteristics and style common in early trance electronic. In addition, it’s merely focusing on its dynamics along with a touch of atmosphere and melodic structures as found in his current sonic trademark.
The outcome offers a comfortable, chill-outish and smooth swinging electronic ride throughout with a spatial sound design. In there we find nice vintage textures and pads merging with contemporary sounds and effects besides lots of details and cosmic licks.

While “Left Hemisphere Induction” is the fast-paced and prominent track found here, only “Pangea” feels a bit lightweight between the other seven takes. Mr Kyryluk decided to complement two spherical ambient tracks from the archives to complete the release on gentle notes.
