“Contacto” is the debut cd of the Mexican musician Miguel Arróniz Castrillón. The eight tracks on this album, which last over 75 minutes, almost all have a sequencer-based up-tempo character.
The influences ranch from Kraftwerk to smooth, Schulze-like soloing over swinging sequence-lines. Especially the title-track is well composed, lasting over 15 minutes, creating a nice swirling sound adventure. “5000” is another recommended track with classical textures, drums and a smooth solo-voice, followed by the traditional soundings of “Grita tu Libertad”. “Tierra de Dioses”, clocking at 21 minutes, is a slowly building track with grand textures and some soloing, making a very nice closure to this album.
