The focus of this ASC recording -written during the 2020 pandemic lockdown- centers around a more acoustic sound of looped piano dressed with melancholic, airy soundscapes. James Clements leads the listener through an introspective, dreamy, and calm aural landscape with sepia tones where a sense of nostalgia is clearly present. The eight “Acts” on “Original Soundtrack” see the artist push himself creatively, focusing on instrumentation within his emotive ambient music with a lot of attention to detail. Make sure you dig this fine release when minimalist piano (think Budd/Eno) fused with space-expanding ambiences have your interest. |
