Several years back these two musicians already impressed me with their well-done “A Restless Mind”, which now sees a continuation through the introspective ambient recording “Surfacing”. The six-track, 37-minute release offers an un-rushed approach with its highly emotive, somber soundscapes merged with slices of melancholic drones and hints of hypnotic melodies. Its smooth, quite breathtaking, lush waves gently take the listener into an inward expanse where calm and reflection resonate all the way through as the elements emerge from the ether and spread a sense of beautiful loneliness. In that respect, both “Shiver”, “Silhouette” and “Shimmer” evoke goosebumps easily. “Surfacing” makes a(nother) recommended listen. |
