Audiometria – Cave Session

The idea for this recording came from a cave in Miguel’s house where a comfortable space for approximately 60 people was created along a stage built of a wall of speakers that had been collected over the years.
Javi Cánovas and Miguel Justo simply started playing on the fly, recording the outcome straight to an old Tascam 8-track nor applying any postproduction.

The five tracks present entangled strings of modulated and tweaked sequencer strings in Berlin School style along vintage synth pads. The improvised nature of the music though shows once in a while. Both “Waiting for the Light” and “The Fog” come forward lightweight compared to the expressive “Floating Entrance” and “Coming Out” opening and closing the 67-minute “Cave Session”. Overall, I feel the release is rather mediocre.

According the band’s Facebook site, the cave set-up will be applied for Audiometria’s forthcoming musical encounters.
