Aurom – Secret Garden

Aurom is a down-tempo ambient project by Australian composer Nicholas Buchanan. The five tracks on “Secret Garden” are presented in one continuous mix, and have a spacious sound along a pleasant groovy undercurrent and an organic rim.

The opening-piece “Gaiam” takes off with great textures, followed by the elevating soundscapes and tabla hints of “Balance”. Both remember of the sophisticated ambiences found on releases of the Ultimae label. The lush, almost sensual sphere continues on the title track.

More smooth clicks, sampled bits and vocal licks hit the stage on the bit more chaotic sounding “Gravity”, where things are slowly set in motion.
The dreamy “Ever” puts an end to the 27-minute atmospheric EP with structural movements and Solar Field-like pushy elements along sequencer/percussion parts.
