With this release, sound sculptor Boreal Taiga continues the further transformation of his sound and music that was set in motion on his previous record “E 10”. It follows the path to a more ethereal journey with less fluff, creating a more deeper chill-out experience overall using frequencies, binaural field recordings, and subtle magical body tone switches among a unique numerical flowchart of sound. As JimD puts it, the 82-minute “Music For The Drive On Rv83” -for which he reprocessed and reimagined some previously unreleased older material- is not ambient in the typical sense, but rather exploratory downtempo with minimal, experimental, and dub ambient drone leanings. The spacious, slow, and calm outcome (and another definite candidate for headphone listening) visualizes far arctic roads in Northern Norway revealing stunning views of high peaks, flowing ice rivers, deep oceans, thick snow, tunnels, bridges, and roads, all connected to help with the deep drive journey.
