Carbon Based Lifeforms is the Swedish duo Johannes Hedberg and Daniel Ringström of which some music already appeared on the Fahrenheit Project-samplers of the same label.

Well, what we encounter here is down-tempo ambient from up north in which spacy textures and tribal ambient grooves are combined, shifting from meditative chill-out to more trance-like states.
While listening, you pass through various stages in which things sometimes get a little less interesting as the music is overall longform and too static as heard in “Comsat”.

The first half of the album is surely the best part, as it slowly develops with nice bass-pulses, fx’s and delicate textures. At the end of the album, CBL returns to vaster soundworlds with a drift-off feel.
The outstanding mastering was again done by the magic hands of Huby Sea
