The eight-part/50-minute “Area 24”, released on December 23th 2024, is an alienating, haunting, psychedelic as well as strange sonic affair containing a whole range of abstracts hooks and stark organic bits. Imagine a slow moving landslide of murky, dark textures, dense soundscapes and repetitive motives dressed with field recordings, percussive elements as well as some minimal sequencing occasionally passing by. Here we dwell in a spacious, adventurous realm that affiliates slightly with classic recordings “Phaedra” and “Rubicon” but breathing its own otherworldly, uncanny voice. “Part four” and “Part six” both make strong outings incorporating hypnotic electronics, primeval dronescapes and slices of sequencing as we pass through and what feels like an off-world landscape of hallowed ground.
