David Helpling & Jon Jenkins – Beyond Words

“Beyond Words” -subtitled “rare live treasures”– contains six tracks originally from the duo’s 2007 release “Treasure”, but now recorded at a live concert on August 25, 2008 at the University of California San Diego.

The album is released as a limited edition of 1000 pieces in special eco-wallet packaging that is intended as a companion to “Treasure” for the fans and collectors. The release was created to sell at the duo’s live shows so the folks who already owned all of their other works would have something special to take home.

On this performance, Helpling and Jenkins are assisted by Matthew Stewart on drums, electronic percussion and keyboards.
Warm blankets of synthesized textures are the core of the music, nice complimented by e-guitar and drums/percussion, together creating a highly atmospheric and compelling listening experience. Especially “The Knowing” carries a strong Patrick O’Hearn flavour.

“Beyond Words” is only available online at DeepExile.com, but will probably hit the Spottedpeccary.com website in the near future. In addition, there are currently no plans to release it to wider distribution.
