“Treasure” took over six years in the making, but is certainly worth the wait as it offers the best of both worlds from these skilled musicians. Its musical content is highly cinematic, ranging from beautiful ethereal soundscapes to rhythmic spiced compositions. There’s a nice flow recognizable track after track, in which David’s typical guitar work delivers another dimension to the already well composed & played pieces. And yes, the slight Patrick O’Hearn feel in Helplings music is still present. As is the case with all Spotted Peccary releases, the mastering by Howard Givens is very well done. I sincerely hope it won’t take another six years or so for a follow-up album. |
