Many starting elements on this album where created by Stuart White (aka Diatonis) after he came home from visiting abandoned townships, an extended walk, or a long drive. The sonic content of “An Abstract View” has moved away from previously executed dense and darkening soundscapes. It now focusses on more traditional ambient which features lots of minimal and Eno-esque elements and sustained sounds. The first piece is based on string drones and occasional acoustic guitar, while the following piece “Evocations through Solitude” is a quiet, drifting outing with beautifully looped, velvet voice pads reminiscent of Brian Eno. The album comes as an audio cd-r and NTSC dvd-r, the latter containing all eight songs in both Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 surround sound. While each of the songs is playing an image is shown. Three of the songs have full length videos all with Dolby Digital and DTS 5.1 surround sound. |
