The album “Highway 1”, inspired by journey’s Stuart White aka Diatonis undertook travelling California’s Highway 1, was conceived between September 2004 and July 2005, and was realized using highly processed synthesizers and guitars. The mesmerizing ambient music is overall relaxed and intimate, reaching out to and reflecting deeper emotions. Melancholy and longing are the most prominent of these as the fine soundscapes and sometimes even repetitive music slowly unfolds and go by. Next to warm textural blankets of sound some velvet voices are also featured in “Night Drive” and the closing track “The Wind’s Direction”. “Between Fenceposts” echoes the guitar lingerings of the title track at the start of the album. The album was recorded and mixed in 5.1 surround and is available as both normal stereo cd and as 5.1 surround audio dvd. |
