I can’t say I’m much of a follower of electronic music from Germany, but I do know Tübingen-resident Till Kopper and Düsseldorf-based HaJo Liese (aka EL-KA) have been around in the scene for a long time. They as well as their music are representatives of the well-known Berlin School, more particular the sequencer-driven, melodic side of it. The major part of “La Rêve” consists of live recordings without additions (same as their previous albums “Galactic Sequencers” and “Live@E-Day 2007”) complimented by two (bonus)tracks that appeared previously on Schallwende’s Schallplatte discs. Well, the outcome sounds pretty straightforward stuff to my ears, so expect quite some happy sequencing but also some flaws due to the improved nature of the live recordings. Though I feel the 14-minute “Rêve Analogique” ranks higher, building a warm atmosphere overall. A special note goes out to the moody cover art. |
