With “The Shape of Time”, this accomplished Scandinavian musician brings his audience a 62-minute highly atmospheric recording presenting nine compositions of thoughtful and seductive ambient electronic music with melodic soaring themes, vast slow-moving drones, and rhythmic patterns drifting in cycles of transmutable harmonies. Dreamful, ethereal rays shine through on every track of the smooth unfolding, reflective, emotive and seductive ambient release. I rate the two-part title piece (some lovely choir pads in part 2) among its highlights as well as the beautifully molded “Midnight Sun” and “Runestones”. Nice going, Erik! |
