Forest Field is Dutch composer Peter Cox, hereby presenting his debut EP “Floating on Air”. The outcome, originally written to participate in the 2013 “Music For Car Parks” competition in Belgium, is a 32-minute ambient work in nine continuous parts incorporating elements from new age and progressive rock. The long form soundscape very much feels like an amateur recording featuring a flat sound design and simple rhythms, ending up in weary, non-vibrant musings in which the occasional environmental sounds seem the only positive note. I simply can’t make more of this recording. |
