Freud is a project by German keyboardist Ingo Hauss and Dublin-based singer Cora O’Donovan. “The Journey”, their second release on which Maria Sanchez joins the duo, fits in the genre of vocal and smooth chill-out pop music, a progressive/electronic and overall moody style balancing somewhere between Amethystium, Adiemus and Enya, although there are also influences of Celtic and dance scattered over the album. The outcome is at times sensuous and mystifying, than encompassing, exotic, ethereal and full of charm, which also sees choral elements blend into the instrumentals in the non-lyrical passages. Those seeking for a delicate balance of relaxing mood and pop-oriented melodic music (the latter strongly applies to the closing track “World of Wonders”) should investigate the music of this band. The 2009-release of the cd comes with two bonus tracks plus the album “Time Passengers”, the band 1998-debut album. |
