I won’t spend many words on this concept album, inspired by the Sculpture Garden of the Dutch Kröller-Müller Museum, as the experienced duo Emmens/Heij have delivered another fine album, their fifth by now, of vintage electronics that fits nicely next to their previous releases.

The music contained on “The Sculpture Garden” is dynamic and atmospheric at the same time, offering lush solos flying over attractive sequencer patterns, percussion and effects. I’m personally impressed by “Needle Tower”, a succesful exercise in moulding the right warm mood and relaxed pace to the fascinating artform.
All in all, “The Sculpture Garden” is a job nicely accomplished.
