At the start of the ’90’s, UK creative minds and producers Tom Middelton en Mark Pritchard was offered the opportunity to remix Chapterhouse’s shoegazer album “Blood Music”. The chill-out result became their debut “Pentamerous Metamorphosis”, a great combo of warm textures, string tapestries and sampling techniques paired with captivating rhythms, all delivering a magical, off-the-world ambience that’s very hard to fit into words. The five-part electronic symphony pairs groovy currents with lush, inspired and dreamy soundscapes while integrating some light melodies as the journey unfolds. All in here comes in comfortable waves in an ebb and flow nature. As such, this very fine and overtly relaxed recording still makes one of the best ambient electronica albums of the ’90’s. |
