A promo of this cd was handed over to me at E-Live 2004. Well, Harald Nies hails from Xanten, Germany, and has a fascination for electric guitars, guitar effect-boxes and Krautrock. The album appears to be an instrumental one which offers quite some rocking guitar next to several synth-patterns. But from the beginning I also noticed a dry and flat sounding drum machine showing up in all seven tracks, which unfortunately isn’t handled without much imagination. Harald thanks Klaus Hoffmann-Hoock for his tribute on the third track, which must only aply to not-that-remarkable Asian sounds and vibes. The music on “Space is Everywhere” lacks good composition, depth and above all a proper production. Note: this album was re-released on SynGate in 2007. |
