HERE is London-based producer Simon Vince and composer James Murray, offering seven pieces of bittersweet atmospheric, electro-acoustic ambient underscored by an elegant disquiet current on their EP “A Quiet Unease”. A blend of calm and intrigue hovers over and is found inside these drifting melodic strands, choral echoes, and nostalgic string swells while a sense of discomfort and longing is always lurking around the corner along an occasional ghostly, surreal vibe. The title piece and “Unheard”, “Unseen” are the tracks that stand out for me. |
