Hypnodial is an ambient chill-out project by Spanish musician Ilia Rodríguez who released his debut “Aether Alcoves” in 2017, followed by the Ep “Sub” in 2019. The outcome of “Good Times End Times” (according the composer conceptually moving into more abstract, stream-of-consciousness terrain) consists of 7 tracks/45 minutes of moody, warm, and overall slow evolving atmospheres presented in one continuous stream. Beside its calming effect one can also sense an occasional intrinsic pulse and vague dream-inducing undercurrent, especially when the music takes on a drony, profound static shape. This said I imagine some may find this morphing, beat-less music a bit uniform to keep their attention.
