Hypnosphere – Magnetism

This is my first encounter with the music of the German project Hypnosphere, aka Lambert Ringlage (electronic musician and owner of Spheric Music) and Wolfgang Barkowski (aka Alien Nature).

The duo describes the 76 minute “Magnetism” as a thematical follow up to their 2003-debut album “Within the Whirl”, which both deal with the influence of special forces.

Well, the accessible electronic sessions on this cd are divided in eight uninterrupted parts, which smoothly takes off with 22 minute “part 1”, soon accompanied by hold back sequencing and atmospheric, Berliner School-based textures.
There are some general melodic excursions to be found on the album, but I personally prefer those atmospheric, nicely sequenced outings.

Overall, there’s no difficult music to be found here on this well-done, sequencer-oriented “Magnetism”.
This album will sure be loved by quite some electronic music fans out there.
