Contrary to “Frontiers”, the sonic journey of Ian Boddy and Erik Wøllo third collaborative effort “Meridian” is for those preferring slower evolving, denser and atmospheric electronics expanded with lyrical e-guitar additions. The overall 58-minute cinematic ambience -spread out over 11 tracks- passes through various emotive currents, gentle melodic lines along beautiful harmonies, opening and closing in a mysterious, haunting fashion with “Uncharted” and “Obscured” respectively. In the end “Meridian” makes up an intriguing, deepening aural travelogue featuring some lovely, multi-layered synth work rich and ambient textures along strings of evocative poly-rhythms.
