“Phase 3” (of which the actual working title was “Bad Boys”) is a live recording of over 70 minutes comprising the best qualities of three great musicians, who only used analog electronic equipment for this performance. Tracks 1-4 were recorded in concert at De Landing, Eindhoven, The Netherlands on January 12, 1997, while the fifth track at the end of the disc is a recording of a rehearsal at Ron’s home made the day before the actual concert. Well, Ian Boddy brings some of the finest sequences you can imagine using his large Moog Modular system, while Ron Boots add his vast soundscapes and solos to it while talented drummer Harold van der Heijden fills in the rest by means of great dynamic rhythms and percussion. Highly recommended! |
