With “Aureal”, Javi again brings us a very attractive and highly inspired sounding sonic canvas. The music itself features a wealth of expansive and vibrant textures all the way, but what fascinates me the most is that the whole arc of evocative and sounds paints a grand cinematic scenery for the minds eye that keeps on rising, falling and evolving in a fascinating, gentle and unhurried pace. “Aureal” sees Javi step out as a confident composer of well-crafted soundscape ambient in which elements of Robert Rich, Max Corbacho and Steve Roach are recognizable in the smooth and ongoing synth breezes. “Echoes from the Dryland” even introduces a smooth oriental lead voice along the dwelling soundscapes. The album is very nicely brought to a closing with the five-part title track, which elevates things to a beautiful ethereal level. As an avid fan of cosmic and textural electronic music, I absolutely love and highly recommend the grand ambient musings of “Aureal”. The album is available as digital download from MusicZeit, although I wished this recording to be a factory-pressed cd. |
