“To the Shores of Heaven” is the fifth album by Indiana-based ambient musician Jeff Pearce, by many better know as composer of “spacious music for strings”.

There were some darker and foreboding passages to be found on his previous albums, so it’s a surprise to find out Jeff’s output this time has become a bit lighter, but not less interesting.
Although I was sometimes reminded of the music of Michael Brooke, Pearce remains a master in creating beautiful moody and melancholic textural music with a strong ethereal impact.

In a way, his fluid, meandering music contains a strong sense of hope when things have turned out dark.
“To the Shores of Heaven” is a great ambient album to cherish over and over again.
