Well, ambient textural guitarist Jeff Pearce has outdone himself on “Skies and Stars”, a 56-minute epic of blissful space music meant for gazing at a clear night sky and close listening. Pearce’s signature sound is found at the heart of two longform pieces and a short outro making up the 56-minute “skymusic” album as Jeff likes to call it. These are attentively crafted constellations of ethereal sound washes rising and falling effortlessly, then taking off again as they spiral upward into infinite expanse. On top of that is a deep sense of calm, introspection and awe, the constant thread in these profound sonic immersions and explorations into cosmic environs. Chapeau, Jeff.
