Concept wise, this third album by New Zealand-based musician Jon Mark, takes a different direction compared to the previous two concept albums “Standing Stones of Callanish” and “Land of Merlin”, as it’s dedicated to character and history of the Spanish Alhambra region. Again, Jon has delivered a masterpiece of well executed dreamy music, in which quiet guitar textures, flute and trumpet sounds seamlessly blend with warm synthesizer tapestries. This intimate, with smooth Arabic and Spanish rhythms flavoured ambient music has a captivating impact, certainly bringing the listener in a relaxed state of mind. Nicely done, Jon! |
