It has been quite a while since I reviewed a release from the French Ultimae label but I’m happy to present another nice one, this time created by Henrik Lagesen (aka Lauge) and label owner Vincent Villius (aka Aes Dana). “Terrene” (a daedal story taking one on a magnetic peregrination through dense and contrasted sonic geographies, picturing the notion of temporality and space) marriages a spacious, warm, and impeccable sound design with distinct down-tempo vibes assorted rhythms, poignant beats, and various deep basslines. The latter three add a lovely pulse and drive to the cinema-esque ambient landscapes and slow unfolding textural sonic shapes. All in all, “Terrene” will be up your alley if you likes Aes Dana’s output as well as explorative deep ambiences encapsulation both calm and active states.
