Four years previous to “Pusterum” the Danish duo Kalle Christensen and Henrik Laugesen released “Langbortistan”. The latter is a 7-tracks/72-minute release featuring gentle, slow unfolding down-tempo electronics dressed with a variety of beautifully lush melodies. Back in those days it would have fit nicely in the roster of labels such as Ultimae, Iboga or Interchill but only saw a very limited cd-r release on Altar Records beside the project’s own privately released download version. Overall, a relaxed atmosphere is flying high on the recording but the fifth track “Reflektioner” and the second half of “Nordlys” turn up the bit peppier avenue with its deep bass line and groovy sound. Things soften again on “Hypnose” and “Rejsen” found at “Langbortistan’s” tail. Pick this recording if you fancy the work of Cell, Carbon Based Lifeforms and alike. |
