Like its predecessors, the sixth Liquid Mind-album “Spirit” sounds very relaxing and well-balanced. It is typical music that turns you inward within a few minutes. Warm, encompassing textures surround the listener for over an hour, taking out every trace of stress in mind and body. Sometimes the background features a light, subtle sequence-pattern like on the second track, which later evaporates. The rather orchestral-oriented sounds of the former album “Serenity” enter stage again, but are further developed, while the two closing tracks feature some delightful but quiet vocals. To me, “Teach me to Whisper” and “In the Spirit” are pieces that can make you cry. All in all, this is another nice addition to the ongoing list of total-relaxation music by Chuck Wild, one which is smoother of sound than some of his earlier albums. |
