Mark Jenkins – iPaDream
CD-R, Private Release, 2010

With “iPaDream”, London-based musician Mark Jenkins released a full electronic music album created entirely on a 64GB 3G Apple iPad.

Those who saw him perform on E-Live 2010 saw him use this portable live music setup with its numerous touch abilities. Furthermore, this small performance system offers the ability to create (live) sounds and textures which can match those of bigger keyboard setups
.
“The iPaDream” album”, forming part of the “MJ50” celebrations of the musician’s 50th birthday, contains 14 pieces which were originally done by Tangerine Dream, Peter Baumann, Chris Franke. Michael Garrison and Ron Grainer.

They now have been moulded and transformed into bright and contemporary compositions, which sees Mark easily blend TD’s ‘70;s and ‘80’s elements, while even a modern, more up-tempo version of the famous “Dr Who Theme” also passes by on the 10th track.
A fun release by all means.
