In February 2016, some artists from the French Ultimae label did a live performance under the dome of the Zeiss Planetarium in Bochum, Germany. Martin van Rossum, aka Martin Nonstatic was one of them. The continuous set played can be regarded a totally spaced out exploration of the aural material featured on his previous album “Granite”, sounding very clean-cut, detailed, crisp and expansive. The only strange thing is the mélange of IDM and down-tempo doesn’t connect to the way I imagine the grand expanse up above. |
