Since I ran into the thoughtfully made music of this skilled German musician many years back, I enjoy most of it -except his dub-oriented stuff. Four lengthy tracks make up Mr. Stürtzer’s album “Celestial Tides”, a 68-minute cosmic reverie of assorted sequences and lush floating pads, all unfolding meticulously as beautiful nebulous realms open up before the mind’s eye. Martin states the outcome was all recorded live in November 2024 using a setup of both contemporary and vintage synths. The dreamlike essence and aesthetics of pure ambient cosmic sound is captured here very nicely and melted expertly with smooth, subdued sequenced dynamics. All in all, this recording fits nicely next to Martin’s other space-themed releases. |
