Mr Grassow’s “Dissolution” – a dark trip dedicated to paganism – will be a treat for aficionados of deep, slow-evolving ambient and expansive drone-based sonic landscapes. The outcome is referred to as the ground, a below zero, where everything is put on hold and the wheel of life stops turning. Haunting, mystical, and abyssal realms along with ethereal spirits, gather on the intense 74-minute album, reaching a pinnacle on the 32-minute sacred, earthy, and psychedelic soundscape “Pluto”. This hypnotizing, deep piece airs a musical philosophy where intrinsic mood and emotions unite seamlessly. In 2009, the recording was re-released as a CD-R on the Practicing Nature label in remastered and redesigned form. It was also available as a download from the composer’s own Bandcamp site. |
