Rüdiger Gleisberg must have had quite an exhausting year, as he also found time to compose a solo-cd next to a cd of Solitaire.

Well, “Arcanum” is a excellent cd he composed together with his musical companions Mathias Grassow en Amir Baghiri, which I’m sure will please almost every ambient music fan.

The music on this cd is one of total contemplation, which stylistically can be shared among the output of VidnaObmana and Steve Roach around that period.
It contains seven melancholic sounding, well balanced soundscapes which affect the listener with tender magic and profundity. The music is accompanied by delicate percussion and sequencers, featuring beautiful, smooth textures and sequencers.

All in all, an impressive album and an absolute must-have in the genre.
