Somehow I missed out on this album by German synthesist Andre Zufall, aka Mon0, containing four tracks -all clocking over 10 minutes- of imaginary, overtly dense drone tapestries. “Colliding Textures” (52:30 min.) is a slow building and evolving aural travelogue of darker-flavored and remote spherescapes after a long fade in on each piece. It’s able to create a haunting yet immersive sensation as the listener wanders through it, especially when headphones are applied. One way or the other, one can’t miss the underlying urgency and intensity along some slices of menace and despair embedded in this well-rendered display of dark ambient, industrial-infused impressionism. Start immersing….. Released previously on the Test Tube netlabel, “Colliding Textures” is now also available on Mon0’s Bandcamp page on a name-your-price basis. |
