For July 2011, Ron Boots was requested to play a concert at a garden party in Germany, but during its preparations his musical friends Eric van der Heijden, Harold van der Heijden kindly offered to join him, as well as German guitarist Frank Dorittke (aka F.D. Project). It later on appeared these four kindred musical spirits were so well complementing each other and enjoying themselves that the founding of the dynamic new project MorPheuSz became a fact. “Garden Gnomes & Goblins” comprises a 77-minute excerpt from the succesful live concert (despite some slight audible distortions) that became the seed of the fascinating project MorPheuSz, a cross-pollination of musical ideas and talent. One can hear improvisation is an important part in the process of MorPheuSz playing live, the outcome being fusion-instrumental music where the atmospheric/mellow and the dynamic melt together with the unexpected. As a whole though, it’s hard to define, as it does not rely on the melodic, the traditional nor the sequenced styles known in the Em-genre. MorPheuSz simply paints original musical impressions and spheres that lie beyond them, though not neglecting the musical signatures from Ron Boots and Eric van der Heijden (also known as MORE). |
