What I got here is a kind of forgotten but worthy album in the EM-genre. The outcome on this album is music the duo created over a five-year year period during various studio sessions, trying to get bits of analogue equipment to work, or do what they wanted them to do (rather than what they wanted). There’s quite some jolly nice sequencing going on here besides some recognizable soloing and catchy sonic sidekicks by Mr Whitlan. The disc ends with a vibrant 36-minute live set the duo played at Hampshire Jam 4 in October 2005. If you love improvised melodic analogue music with a nice own touch of Berliner School, this 79-minute album might suit you well. Originally physically released on Stephan’s private label Fairy Nuff Music (dedicated to providing you with EM that doesn’t fit the normal mould), Music Zeit now offers the albums improvised music also as download. |
