With “Lost”, Paul Lawler delivers an Ep with three tracks, sonically depicting the final resting places of three failed Mars probes. No sequencers here, but freeform minimal ambient with a slight experimental edge creating a hypnotic mood. The saddening vintage soundscapes aptly visualize the despair and end of technology in an utterly cold and empty galaxy. A place far, far away where there is no hope for survival nor repair. The highly atmospheric “Lost” is no easy work, demanding several listens before it will start to glow and get under your skin. |
