“Livescapes_5” features a 63-minute soundscape created for the Church of Sound Ambient music events in Nottingham September and October 2016, comprising live performance and live studio session recordings by Peter Challoner. The most tranquil outcome is an introspective and gradually evolving tapestry of textural ambient and shapes along some occasional grainy and organic sound effects and an slightly abstract sidestep filling the first 35 minutes or so. From there, the morphing soundcurrent starts to open up bit by bit, introducing soft gliding soundscapes and gentle choir textures moving in, spreading sideways and fading away. It all makes another Eno-esque moodscape moving along lush within the whirl. |
