After quite a busy year in 2018, the German band Pyramid Peak took a well-deserved creative break. With the 67-minute “Symmetry”, Axel Stüpplich and Andreas Morsch offer another most attractive work of contemporary, spiced-up electronics, a feast of catchy melodic lines merged with strings of powerful, pulsating, and occasionally even tight sequencers and dynamic rhythms/beats. Apart from various lush soundscapes and atmospheric parts, there’s a catchy, groovy, quite infectious drive all over the place on this excellently mastered, spatial-sounding album. Altogether, there is a lot to enjoy on the sparkling sounding “Symmetry”, no less than a must-have for any EM-fan. Rating: between 3.5 and 4 stars. |
