This album is another example of Richard Burmer’s visual mood music. There are some great pieces “On the Third Extreme”, such as the spine-shivering opener “Magellan”, the euphoric/medieval atmosphere created by the symphonic “Celebration in the Four Towers” or the simply beauty of the heart-felt “Turning to You”.
As a finale, “Waking the Icons” is another true marvel, beautifully merging quiet spaces with grand symphonic textures.

Despite the slightly more commercial-oriented sonic approach noticeable throughout this album, “On the Third Extreme” still is a release not to be missed.
