Rob Essers debut album “Raincolors” was originally released in 1994 on Cue Records NL. A couple of months before that, Rob gave me a demo of the album, which resulted in quite some goosebumps when I heard the extraordinary music on it. The music on it is made in the great tradition of TD’s music of the early eighties, featuring the sound of a great assortment of analogue gear, which includes the great PPG synthesizer. So it won’t be a surprise when I say the outcome is tasty and highly recommendable collection of warm sounding, nicely paced melodic and rhythmic tracks which make you mind wander back to the aformentioned golden days of electronic music. Note: This great album was re-released in 2002 (see the above new cd-cover), now including three bonustracks -recorded in 1994-1995- which continue in the same tradition. |
