Samsa – The Laurentian Divide

Samsa is Nathan Larson, one of the guys who founded the now defunct ambientlabel GreenHouse Music.
“The Laurentian Divide” is his dark-ambient debut, which contains lots of heavy dronespaces with experimental touches and voice-samples, so quite hard stuff actually.

But there is space on this cd for more transparent, lighter textures as like on e.g. “Perfectly Flawed” (with only a few discordant sounds) or the dense environments of “Edge of Forever”. Besides these tracks, “One of the Above” and “Silence Within” are worth listening too.

Just expect 72 minutes of dark, foreboding soundscapes with quite some experimental edges. The full album is available as free download at his website.
