Laurent Schieber describes “Decem” as a jubilee release, celebrating 10 years of artistic and spiritual evolution in capturing the essence of the Berlin School. That can be, but for me, this three-track recording doesn’t bring anything new to the table: this time around, the composer loses himself in a too-lengthy minimalist sound design made up of the usual extended sequencer patterns, choral pads, and additional textures. Sure, the composer can still be passionate about all this (and I respect that), but to my ears and opinion, this “ode to creativity and inspiration” and “enchanting and immersive musical journey, filled with vibratory and cosmic harmonies” feels rather obsolete at this time and place… Website: sequentia-legenda.bandcamp.com You can see what reviews I have done of this artist on the Sequentia Legenda artist page. |
